NSPCC Number Day
Date: 10th Feb 2020 @ 5:21pm
We had a fantastic NSPCC number day- one filled with maths, and of course fun!
To start off our very productive day we had an assembly taken by two great volunteers from the charity- NSPCC. Children had an opportunity to reflect upon worries faced by children of a similar age and what we can do in order to tackle these worries head on. It was great to see all children so engaged with the session but also see the level of maturity that came from each and every individual.
After our assembly, it was back to the classroom for some serious baking! Children had to complete a number of maths challenges in order to win their equipment and ingredients for their cake making! During the session, children needed to weigh each ingredient out, which consisted of reading scales and converting between kg and g- Year 5 and 6 were great- we have had plenty of practise!
Followed by our messy activity, we had a workshop with the NSPCC. It allowed us to delve into some of the key issues raised from the earlier session. Roddlesworth had some fantastic responses and discussion.
To end our fun-filled day, we held a cake sale during the afternoon, where all money raised will be going to support the NSPCC. A great day had by all!
A massive THANK YOU to all our Roddlesworth parents/ siblings who attended the day! It was great to have your enthusiasm and engagement! Myself and all the children were extremely excited and grateful to have you there!
